"Each morning, before embarking on a hiking excursion, I would eagerly look forward to our early morning yoga session. Yoga helped prepare our bodies and our minds for whatever lay ahead for the day. For some it was the challenge of traversing, somewhat precariously, across glaciers. For others, more sedate walks exploring the beautiful mountain vistas of the Alps seemed the wiser choice. On occasion, yoga sessions were held outdoors in the early morning mountain air. The wonderfully stimulating yet relaxing postures of yoga took on a new, almost spiritual meaning during those times."
