Integrative Positional Release Therapy

As some of you already know, I have been studying a bodywork technique called Integrative Positional Release Therapy. I am very excited to announce that I recently received my certificate of completion for Level 3 training and intend to bring this powerful work to our community at the Watertown Center for Healing Arts, 22 Mount Auburn St., Watertown Square 02472.

Positional Therapy is a cutting-edge program for recovery from chronic pain that can be used for self-healing and with family, friends, and clients. Through simple hands-on techniques, the body's habitual holding pattern in a particular area is released. Results are immediate and often permanent, and the techniques are gentle and easily learned. Clients have described the outcome as “magical.”

The positional release method combines strain-counterstrain, muscle energy technique, stretching, and home care to eliminate the causes of most neuromuscular pain patterns. These methods include body positions and movements that effectively treat pain caused by injury, stress, repetitive motion, postural distortion, and chronic neuromuscular conditions. I will give you a home treatment plan, which often includes yoga postures/movements, to help you maintain the release and alignment gained from the positional release.

Integrative Positional Release Therapy can help to relieve and often eliminate pain from chronic conditions such as:

  • Neck and shoulder pain

  • Plantar Fascitis

  • Sciatica

  • Headaches

  • Tennis & Golf Elbow

  • Fibromyalgia

TMJ – jaw pain & clicking
  • Rotator Cuff injury

  • Knee pain

  • Carpal Tunnel

  • Low Back Pain

What to Expect:

  • the practice is done fully clothed on a massage table

  • Sessions booked on first-come-first-serve basis

  • Sessions will last approximately 50 minutes

  • Homework will be given to help you maintain a pain free existence based on your needs

  • An evaluation form will be filled out at end of session. This is key to help make my practice stronger.
