PACKING SUGGESTIONS FOR
YOGA and HIKING
Hiking Gear:
• 1 light/day back pack
• 1 pair hiking shorts or coulotte (comfortable)
• 1 pair long pants
• 2 T shirts and 1 long sleeved shirt
• 1 wool sweater or jacket
• 1 wind jacket
• 1 rain gear (top, with hood, and pants; or poncho)
• 2 pair hiking socks (hiking socks are thicker than regular
socks; must feel comfortable in footwear
• 1 pair hiking boots
• 1 pair gloves or mittens
• 1 wool (warm) hat
• 1 hat with visor for sun protection
• 1 quart or litre water bottle (or can buy in Swiss supermarket)
• sun glasses
• Swiss army knife for picnics
• sunscreen (SPF 30) and chapstick
• moleskin/bandaids
• Walking stick or two (you can buy one in Switzerland or in
US)
What to Wear when Not Hiking:
During the day: shorts, pants, or jogging suit, T-shirts
or blouses
Evening: simple dress, shirt, or pants. Ties not needed.
The hotels are generally informal. Evenings, however, tend to be cool,
and a warm sweater or jacket is useful for after dinner strolls. A
scarf is useful for cool evenings and also for protection from the
sun.
Suggestions for Yoga:
Whatever you wear to classes in the U.S.--loose, comfortable
clothing.

convert Swiss francs to dollars.
